Where's That File?
A number of teachers, administrators, and itinerant personnel have made use of a number of files we have created over the past four years. I have tried to gather as many of these as possible and assemble them in a file repository on Student Moodle. This file repository allows guest access, so anyone can download the files contained there. These include:
- The extra-curricular recording system. This is a small database that I created to make it easier for in-school administrators to track their staff's extra-curricular hours and report them.
- Travel & Expense Form. A number of itinerant staff over the years have made use of this spreadsheet, which performs automated lookups of mileage distances within the division. This has recently been updated. Keep in mind that the mileage rate must be updated every April 1 and October 1.
- Perpetual School Calendar. Each year I usually get requests for an editable school calendar on which administrators can mark the special dates (PD days, holidays, PLC days, ...) for the year. This calendar has several years' worth of calendars (up to 2013-14). Just click on the tab at the bottom of the sheet to select a particular school year.
- Student Conference Database: A number of schools in my area have used this database to timetable students into sessions at positive lifestyles conferences. In truth, it can be used to schedule any conference. (It's original purpose was to schedule staff for the Chinook Sunrise Celebration).
- Chinook IP Curriculum: The provincial IP curriculum is extremely out of date, so two years ago members of the Elearning team and Chinook teachers put together a curriculum which more closely reflects the time we live in and the technology we work with.
Was there a tutorial for that?
Over the past four years, the Elearning team has invested considerable time creating and collecting tutorial material on a number of subject. These tutorials, which I have made reference to many times throughout the year, will continue to reside on the student Moodle server. To access them, you can visit Student Moodle, scroll to the bottom, click on Elearning (in the list of schools) and then click on Elearning Tutorials.
GPS and Geocaching PAA Unit
On Student Moodle, you will also find an online Geocaching Unit. The unit covers the technology behind the Global Positioning System, how to search for Geocaches in your own area, and how to place and register your own geocache.
