Alas, the title proves that you can take the English teacher out of the classroom, but you can't excise his penchant for bad puns and double entendres.
This is not a lament. And, it is certainly not a complaint. It is, however, the last official post to the Tech Tips blog. Today will the last day for the Elearning team. If or when an Elearning department re-emerges, it will no doubt take a very different form than it has had over the past four years.
On behalf of the members of the Elearning Team, I would like to pass on our sincerest thanks to the schools that have welcomed us into their staff rooms, and to those staff members who invited us to work with your students in the classroom.
While I can't speak for my colleagues on all counts, I would have to say that, for me, one the greatest reward of the last four years has been the opportunity to meet and work with so many energetic, dedicated people, I have also valued getting to know so many students in the schools in which I have worked. I can hardly think of a better way to have ended a career in education.
When we first began as an Elearning team four years ago, we speculated, half in jest, that if we were really successful we would do ourselves out of a job. While I don't think we quite got there, I do trust that we have made a difference in the level of integration of technology within the curriculum. Certainly, we still have far to go, but that has as much to do with advancing frontier of technology as it does with the shortcomings of our efforts.
A few people have asked if I will be continuing with the Tech Tips blog in the future. While the spirit may occasionally move me to post technology news here, I make no guarantees. Most certainly, I will not be littering your email inbox with updates, but those of you who have set up an RSS feed for Tech Tips may stumble upon the odd update. We'll see.
Thanks again to all. Have a good summer.
